Exclusive Supporters Live Event October 22nd at 19:00 IST/BST, 14:00 EST, 11:00 PST
On Tuesday October 22nd we’ll we be hosting the sixth instalment in our ongoing series of Online Hedge School events exclusive to our kind Supporters, investigating the earliest histories of distilling in Ireland and unravelling the connections between medieval ‘uisce beatha’ and the wider historical tapestry of distilled spirits in Europe.
From Gaelic medical manuscripts to brandy imports, feudal chiefs and Norman lords, and saffron-tinted ‘usquebaugh’, we’ll be covering the intricate cradle years of ‘whiskey before whiskey’, while casting an eye across the channel at some of uisce beatha’s sister spirits on the continent.
Joining us will be our old friends Conor Ryan, Rowan Lacey, Michael Walsh, and Ludo Delamer, all of whom joined us on our road-trip last year through Montpellier, Armagnac, Cognac, La Rochelles and Calvados in search of those connections.
Barry Chandler will be returning as guest MC, and as Fionnán fills us in on the history the lads will regale us with tales of their time on the ground among whiskey’s kindred spirits (and the distillers who make them) in search of that shared history.
This live online event takes place on Wednesday October 22nd at
19:00 IST/GMT (Dublin/London), 14:00 EST (New York), 11:00 PST (LA)
As with all Hedge School events, booking is reserved for Créatúr’s Supporter community. For any non-members interested in joining Créatúr’s cask-share support club membership is available here – we’ve a lot more coming in the future.
