Tuesday 27th May at Arthur’s Pub, Thomas St, Dublin 8.
Dear Créatúr Supporters great and small and full of thirst, We’d like to invite you to register for our next In-person event and join us on Tuesday, May 27th, in Arthur’s Pub (Upstairs) on Thomas Street in Dublin for a bit of a feed of wild oaten whiskey.
The humble oat’s history in Irish distilling reaches all the way back to the agrarian wild roots of Irish whiskey itself. It straddles poitín, pot still, and distillates so old we don’t even use the names anymore. Well, that’s all changing fast. From a few tentative seeds in the 2010s, the oat has been rewilding Irish whiskey and we intend to celebrate with some gorgeous cask pulls from our friends at Sliabh Liag and Killowen, plus a bottle of 30% oat Boann pot still via Two Stacks’ recent Polaris 4.1 for those who missed its quick sell-out last week. Don’t worry. Much like wild oats in a field, we’ve got you covered.
Joining us on the night will be Killowen’s own Brendan Carty, with two special bottles of beta-glutenous goodness directly related to Créatúr. These casks have been part of the Créatúr story for some time but this will be their first public airing. And trust us, they’re wild. And they’re just for us.
As with all Hedge School events, booking is reserved for Créatúr’s Supporter community. For any non-members interested in joining up you can sign-up here – we’ve a lot more coming in the future.
